At JSL Heating, we want to offer the best service not just for heating and boiler repairs and maintenance, but in the actual service and attitude that we exhibit during our work. And part of that is being honest. If something doesn’t really need to be fixed then we will tell you that. Likewise, if it is a simple problem with a simple solution then we are not exactly going to charge you a hefty fee for the work.
And that is exactly what happened at the end of last week.
We received a call from a customer in panic as their boiler had stopped working. While we may have been having some great weather over the weekend, the customer still needed their boiler for hot water.
So as always, our heating team were dispatched the the address in Scotstoun to access the problem. The issue you it transpired was that a day previous, the customer had decided to bleed the radiators. It had been so long since this was done and there was now so much air in the system that it allowed the boiler pressure to drop to a point where the boiler simply did not have enough pressure to operate and went into shut down mode.
You would be amazed how frequently this happens. So all we needed to do was top up with system and make sure the radiators were all properly bled.
Whilst the customer felt like a bit of a gooseberry, it can happen to anybody.
