We were called out to a property in Kelvinside in the West End of Glasgow because the customers boiler was making a funny noise.  The boiler was working ie. it was producing hot water on demand and it was heating the central heating radiators around the home but it was still making a funny sound.

Boilers are of course an incredibly important part of your homes day to day running so it was only natural that our West End customer would be concerned when strange noises began to come from their home boiler.

As always, we turned up at the address at the agreed upon time and quickly got to work.

Access to a boiler is sometimes a concern.  So often they can be packaged into tight corners of a home which can limit access.  And this time was no exception.  The boiler was tucked into a dark cupboard with no lighting.  It was so tight in fact that we had to do some of out work at an angle.  Either way, we identified the problem (to do with the boilers ignition coil).  We quickly got it fixed and the boiler was humming away like an efficient boiler does.

While we were there, we discussed servicing options with the customer.  This wasn’t done as a sales tactic but as an offer of ‘would you like us to check in on your boiler in late Autumn to make sure it is working smoothly in time for Winter?’

The client said yes so we will see them in October.
